The anti-heeling system keeps the vessel ship upright during loading and unloading. With the aid of PLC and high resolution inclinometer, the system will constantly monitor and maintain the vessel heeling angle to within +/-0.5° P or S. Correction of heeling angle is realised by transferring of ballast water between a pair of heeling tanks. Using recirculation of ballast water concept, we can remove those problems usually encountered with frequent pump start / stop design. When this system is in Manual Mode, pre-heeling of vessel (typically up to 2.5°) can first be performed ahead of an impending heavy cargo loading operation.
By installing a submersible pressure sensor in each of the anti-heeling tanks, the HMI panel will display all the sounding level data.
To make full use of the high capacity centrifugal pump, sometimes FIFI is usually incorporated into the anti-heeling. However, anti-heeling operation and FIFI cannot be operated at the same time.
1. HMI panel to monitor and control the anti-heeling system. This panel will be installed at the wheel-house.
2. High capacity centrifugal pump complete with its pump starter panel.
3. Pneumatic or hydraulic actuated butterfly valves for controlling the flow of ballast water between the anti-heeling tanks. These valves are usually designed for fail-closed operation during loss of power.
4. A pneumatic or hydraulic solenoid cabinet to provide the interface between the HMI panel and valves.
5. Submersible pressure sensor in anti-heeling tanks for tank sounding.
6. Float level switch in anti-heeling tanks to prevent dry pumping.
